How long at John Wesley?
For over twenty years. After a year of working for the Crisis and Suicide Service, the youth pastor asked me to apply for the position of secretary. I applied and was hired and after nearly 19 years, I still enjoy my work and the people who have become dear friends and my Christian family.
When attending Marion College, now Indiana Wesleyan University, I met my husband while we were touring with the college choir. I was studying English Education and he was studying for the ministry. After dating for a year, we married and in 2016 celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. We have three brilliant children and four grandchildren who also happen to be brilliant. (I'm not exaggerating a bit!)
Why Am I serving at John Wesley Free Methodist Church?
As a church we have started working toward our goal of becoming a multicultural, multi-generational, and multi-racial church. God is pushing us in that direction so fast that we have to race to keep up. One of my favorite Bible verses is 2 Peter 3:18 "But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ." That is a process that is never finished. It's so exciting to be in God's work!
