How Long at John Wesley Church?

Pastor Kenny and I relocated to Indianapolis from MD on July 29, 2015 and our first Sunday with JWFMC began on August 2, 2015.


Pastors Estelle and Kenny Martin will celebrate 31 years of marriage on May 17, 2017.  Pastor Estelle’s parents are deceased, but she has seven sisters and six brothers who live throughout the U.S.  She helped raise two daughters, Chalana Haney and Tiara Davermann, and has three grandsons and one granddaughter.

Helped lead worship with the Praise and Worship teams in St. Louis & MD

Present Activities

Co-teaches the New Converts/New Members Sunday School class with Pastor Kenny, JWFMC, Indianapolis
Serves in the African-Heritage Network (AHN) of the FMC-USA
Serves on the Praise & Worship team at JWFMC, Indianapolis
Helps with the children while their parents are in the ESL classes at JWFMC, Indianapolis
Serves on the Board of the LYN (Love Your Neighbor) House, Indianapolis

Why John Wesley? 

Pastor Kenny and I are a team.  Where the Lord leads him, I will follow and serve the Lord and all of His people with gladness.  Each time God has called him to a new field of ministry, my spirit bears witness and I have an ear to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to us as a family.  Together, we both have a love and a passion to be a part of what God is doing to build a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, intergenerational church right here at John Wesley. 

Music and Books 

I enjoy and appreciate reading books by African-American authors and I like devotional books.  I am in my car a lot so I also love to check out the audiobooks from the library and listen to Christian romance novels and African-American history.  I prefer listening to gospel, praise and worship, and contemporary Christian music, too.  On road trips, I like to listen to classical music and R & B oldies but goodies.
